Милый Боря! Спасибо за обстоятельный ответ. Я тоже на твои вопросы отвечаю обстоятельно.

1. Покорнейше прошу г. Дальгрена сделать 2 корректуры ''Танцев «Воеводы» ''. Третью же прислать мне. Не забудь, пожалуйста.

2. Партитуру «''Евг[ения] Он[егина]''» прошу прислать мне по исправлении.

3. Насчёт именин я изменил своё решение. Здесь в Майданове живёт много дачников; я со всеми перезнакомился, и всех пришлось бы звать к себе. Это и скучно и неудобно. Поэтому я решился уехать отсюда (и именно в Петербург) накануне именин; у меня, кстати, там дело есть. А ты, голубчик, приедешь ко мне в июле. Я до тех пор или спишусь, или сговорюсь с тобой. Прости, что так неучтиво поступаю: пригласил, а потом удираю от предположенного торжества! Обнимаю.

1. I humbly request Mr Dahlgren to do the 2 proofs for the ''"[[The Voyevoda (opera)|Voyevoda]]" dances'' <ref name="note2"/>. Send the third to me. Please don't forget.

2. I ask you to send me the full score of "''[[Yevgeny Onegin]]''" for corrections <ref name="note3"/>.

3. I've changed my mind about my name day <ref name="note4"/>. There are many summer residents here at [[Maydanovo]]; I've become acquainted with them all, and would have to invite them all to mine. This is tedious and inconvenient. Therefore, I've decided to leave here (namely for [[Petersburg]]) the day before my name day; I have business there, by the way. And you, golubchik, can come to me in July. Until then I'll either write or arrange something with you. Forgive me for behaving with such discourtesy: inviting you and then fleeing from the intended festivities! I hug you.
