	Yesterday I came to [[Paris]], to the great astonishment and even greater joy of the Beliards<ref name="note1"/>. I'm attempting to stay as I did 9 years ago, i.e. completely ''incognito'' <ref name="note2"/>. I spent the evening with [[Ziloti]] and [[Vera Ziloti\|his wife]], who are also staying here at the same ''Richepanse''. Today I ~~breakfasted~~ with them, and now I'm coming home to write my correspondence, which has accrued in large numbers, and so I'm writing briefly to you, just to keep in touch. [[Tolya]] and [[Panya]] are probably in [[Petersburg]]; tell them that I am, thank God, healthy and doing well. Today I will be going to the ''Palais Royal''. Generally I will be wandering between the theatres and otherwise looking to amuse myself, in order to muffle the constant, frantic desire to go home. It worries me that [[Bob]] may be in need of money, and indeed that you're probably sitting there penniless. In view of this, could you not send ''Nara'' <ref name="note3"/> for money from ''[[Osip Ivanovich]]''. Take 100 rubles for yourself and the same for ''Bob'' (only perhaps not all at once, as I'm afraid it will spoil him). Hugs to everyone. Вчера приехал в Париж к великому изумлению и ещё большей радости Беляров. Все они и их слуги здоровы и благополучны. Попробую пожить как 9 лет тому назад, т. е. в полнейшем инкогнито. Вечер провёл с Зилоти и его женой, которые здесь и живут в том же ''Richepanse''. Сегодня с ними завтракал, а теперь пришёл домой и пишу свою корреспонденцию, которая набралась в огромном количестве, а поэтому пишу тебе мало, чтобы только дать о себе известие. Толя и Паня, вероятно, в Петербурге; сообщи и им, что я, слава Богу, здоров и благополучен. Сегодня пойду в ''Palais Royal''. Вообще буду шляться по театрам и всячески себя ублажать, дабы заглушить постоянное, неистовое стремление домой. Меня беспокоит, что Боб, может быть, нуждается в деньгах, да и ты, вероятно, сидишь без денег. Поэтому, не пошлёшь ли ''Нару'' за деньгами к ''Осипу Ивановичу''.
