Я говорил о Вашей сюите с ''М. П. Беляевым''. Он обнаружил полнейшую готовность издать её и чем скорее, тем лучше, дабы в будущем сезоне уже играли по печатным нотам. Беляев, весьма деликатным образом, дал мне понять, что хотя моей горячей рекомендации он вполне верит, но по обычаю без одобрения ''Р[имского]-Корсакова и Глазунова'' обойтись не может. Сим двум я тоже про сюиту говорил, и нет сомнения, что они её одобрят. Насчёт условий, т. е, гонорара, речи не было — я этих сторон дела терпеть не могу касаться, но Беляев, вообще, очень щедр. Тем не менее ''для начала'' советую Вам не дорожиться. Впоследствии, когда Вы повсюду прошумите, можно будет быть требовательным в денежном отношении.

Говорят, что Вы отправили сюиту в Америку? Неужели не копию, а самый манускрипт? Сделали ли Вы другой конец?

Если будете писать Беляеву, то адресуйте И. И. Юргенсону, Большая Морская, № 9, для передачи Митр[офану] Петр[овичу] Беляеву. А мне напишите два слова о том, как Вы решаетесь поступить.

I spoke about your suite with ''[[M. P. Belyayev]]''. He finds that he is absolutely ready to publish it, and the sooner the better, so that it can be played next season from the printed notes. [[Belyayev]], in an extremely delicate way, gave me to understand that although he accepts my enthusiastic recommendation, this would not customarily proceed without the approval of ''[[Rimsky-Korsakov]] and [[Glazunov]]''. Regarding terms, i.e. fees, nothing was said — I am loathe to involve myself in this aspect of business affairs, but [[Belyayev]] is generally very generous. Nevertheless, ''to start with'' I advise you not to ask too much. Subsequently, when you are a sensation everywhere, you can be more demanding in terms of money.

It is said that you have sent your suite to America? Would this have been a copy or the manuscript itself? Did you do the other ending? <ref name="note1"/>
