I am so guilty before you that I can merely bow my head and earnestly plead for you not to tear me to shreds just yet. I'll be in [[Moscow]] again from the 7th and then I'll gather signatures for the petition. I must confess to you that various anxieties and troubles conspired to make me forget about the ''letter'', although I've had the opportunity to acquire the signatures many times. Here is lesson for you: never trust our brother ''musicians'' to do any sort of business. Until we meet!

Most respected Ivan Petrovich!

I am so guilty before you that I can merely bow my head and earnestly plead for you not to tear me to shreds just yet. I'll be in Moscow again from the 7th and then I'll gather signatures for the petition. I must confess to you that various anxieties and troubles conspired to make me forget about the letter, although I've had the opportunity to acquire the signatures many times. Here is a lesson for you: never trust our brother musicians to do any sort of business. Until we meet!

Sincerely devoted,

P. Tchaikovsky
