A Musical Note (Музыкальная заметка) [1] was Tchaikovsky's fifth music-review article for the Moscow journal Russian Register (Русские ведомости) (TH 267 ; ČW 531), in which it was published on 4 November 1872 [O.S.], signed only with the initials "B.L.".

History

Completed by 4/16 November 1872 (date of publication). Concerning the début that evening, on 4/16 November 1872, of Vanda Miller in the role of Selika in a production of Meyerbeer's L'Africaine at the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow.
