Милый друг! Хотел пойти к тебе после репетиции, — но она кончилась в 5¾ часов, а теперь я так устал, что, погулявши по комнате, лягу спать. Чтобы решить вопрос о Ос[ипе] Ив[ановиче] и моих театральных деньгах, мне нужно тебя повидать. Не придёшь ли сегодня ужинать в Эрмитаж, — я буду там в обычной компании. Если же нет, то приходи, пожалуйста, ко мне завтра в 10 или 10½ часов утра. Твой, П. Чайковский

Dear friend! I wanted to call on you after the rehearsal , — but it finished at 5.30, and now I'm so tired that, after walking around the room, I'm going to bed. In order to settle the question of Osip Ivanovich and my theatre money, I need to see you. Won't you come to dinner tonight at the Hermitage? I'll be there in the usual company.
