Dear Sir and Friend!

Dear Sir and Friend. Please forgive me for responding so belatedly. This whole time I have been so very preoccupied with various matters that I could only occasionally have time to think. As for my correspondence, I have completely neglected it, and if I have been discourteous and improper towards you, then I rely on goodness and hope that you will forgive me. Therefore it is with the greatest pleasure that I accept your invitation for 14 March 1890. As for the programme, here is what I propose:

1) Introduction and Fugue from the Suite No. 1
2) Concerto in B-flat minor (Sapelnikov)
3) Francesca da Rimini

Does this suit you? If not, I am prepared to comply with your wishes. Please give me a brief word in reply (addressed to Moscow, Imperial Conservatory, or through Zet).

Until we meet then, dear doctor; please convey my warm and sincere regards to Madame Sieger on the occasion of the New Year.

Yours ever,

P. Tschaikowsky
