The Andante and Finale (1893) remained unfinished at the time of Tchaikovsky's death, and had been intended to complete the Piano Concerto No. 3. While a student in 1863 or 1864 he also completed an Allegro in C minor for piano and strings.

In the last years of his life, Tchaikovsky also planned a Concerto for Two Pianos (1891–93?), a Flute Concerto (1893), and a Cello Concerto, for which some sketches have survived.
