Delphine de Giradin (1804-1855)

French writer and journalist (b. 24 January 1804 at Aix-la-Chapelle; d. 29 June 1855 in Paris), born Delphine Gay. She also wrote under the pen-names Charles de Launay and Madame Émile de Giradin.

Tchaikovsky's Settings of Works by Giradin

Giradin's romance Il m'aimait tant!, published in 1842, was set by Tchaikovsky in a Russian translation by Aleksey Apukhtin as He Loved Me So Much, No. 4 of the Six Romances, Op. 28 (1875).
