Pardon, pardon, pardon!

Tout a Vous,

P. Tschaïkowsky

Dear and good Doctor!

The neuralgic pains in my right arm remain constant, and I am obliged to withdraw from my engagements. I cannot come to Frankfurt!!! I am in despair. Please forgive me, and be assured that I am very unhappy and completely devastated by the thought that I have misled you for a second time. But what is to be done?It would be foolish to hope that a neuralgia which has endured more than two months, and which continues to torment me despite all the doctors' efforts, will cease completely in three weeks!!!

Forgive me, forgive me, forgive me!

Yours ever,

P. Tchaikovsky
