My dear chap! I've sent you 2 copies of the old libretto of "Vakula the Smith" by registered post. One of them, intended for reprinting, contains my additions, which should be printed in italics. Kindly deliver the other to Valts; if you don't know his address, then just send it to the theatre office.

Tomorrow I'm going to Petersburg for a few days. I won't be in Moscow until the tenth, and I'm afraid that I won't catch Natalya Nikolayevna Pechkovskaya, with whom there's much I need to discuss. God grant that she can leave on the 11th; then I might see her on the 10th.

Until we meet, golubchik.

Yours, P. Tchaikovsky

If you need to let anyone know my Petersburg address: Fontanka, 15.

See overleaf

P.S. I've received a letter from Yesipova, which I'm enclosing; you will see from it that she wishes to have the parts and full score of the concerto. It is essential to satisfy her request. Kindly give instructions for a copy of the full score to be made at my expense and for the parts to also be added to my account. You will agree that it's impossible to take money from the person to whom the thing is dedicated. In another envelope I'm sending you my letter to Yesipova, whose address I do not know, because she does not give it; it was through some music store.

P. T.

Or should I send her the original score???

It's essential for me to see the text of "Figaro". Note that the recitatives secco should be written in prose.
