| Dear friend! You know everything you need to about me from the letters to [[Tolya]]; therefore I'm not writing to you anything in detail, and sending this note is if to extend a friendly hand from afar and to say that I love you.
| |
| | |
| I was in a foul mood before I arrived in Italy: why? I don't know myself. It's good for me here. I'm very much enamoured with [[Rome]], and indeed you can only love it once you come to know it well. I'm going from here to [[Naples]] in a week, then to [[Nice]], then to [[Paris]] and, ultimately, at the start of April I'm thinking of making tracks back to Russia, and naturally I could hardly refrain from calling on you in [[Moscow]].
| |
| | |
| However, I still can't say anything definitively.
| |
| | |
| You poor chap! It's horrifying to think of you trudging from the station to Smolny!
| |
| | |
| I'm looking forward to your letters. I haven't received anything from anyone yet. I embrace you and bow to everyone.
