Most respected Yakov Stepanovich!

The bearer of this, M. F. Eastwood [1], is highly respected by me, and a great admirer of our church singing. You would give her the greatest pleasure if you will admit her to some of your singing, and I regard this as a fresh sign of your attention to me, which I very much appreciate. Kindly give my regards to your wife, bows to the whole choir, and I kiss Grisha [2].

With sincere respect for you,

P. Tchaikovsky
