Borya! For the proofs of the full score of "Onegin" I require the vocal-piano reduction (its most recent edition) [1]

Incidentally, tell me: will the full score be newly engraved, or merely corrected from the old plates?

Is the German text now in the full score from the German edition?? Or is it as bad as before? I thought the Hamburg edition had a completely new translation, but I see here just a few corrections [2].

Is there any news from your father?

I hug you. The day after tomorrow I'm going to Petersburg. I'm returning on 3 or 4 July.

Yours P. Tchaikovsky

Notes and References

  1. The second edition of the full score of the opera Yevgeny Onegin, like the first, included the piano reduction of the orchestral parts.
  2. The vocal-piano reduction of the opera published by Daniel Rahter in Hamburg included a new translation by August Bernhardt (1852-1908).
