You write that you're sending me pages from the full score of "Onegin" for correction [1]. However, I have not received these pages. Perhaps they will come tomorrow? Incidentally, answer me 2 words to the question: did Pollini receive his full score of "Onegin" in time?[2] I've heard nothing about this for some reason. You ask what the "mise en scène" is. This is a detailed description of what every cast member and even every choir member does during the course of the piece. Anyway, on receiving Paleček's work from Prague you'll see what I mean. Thank you for forwarding "Cherevichki". Incidentally, would it be a bad thing to publish the dances from the same opera in full score? I'm proud of these, just as I am with the whole opera in general. Just wait and it will pick up at some point. I hug you.

  1. In a letter from Pyotr Jurgenson dated 18/30 November 1891, the publisher told Tchaikovsky he would be sending him pages from the second edition of the full score of the opera Yevgeny Onegin, which was due to be published the following month.
  2. The impresario Bernhard Pollini was producing Yevgeny Onegin at the Hamburg Opera Theatre, where Gustav Mahler would conduct the German premiere on 7/19 January 1892.
