25 мая 1892 г[ода] Клин Я весьма охотно могу Вам дать рекомендацию в Дирекцию, — но сомневаюсь, что в нынешнем сезоне в Вас может быть нужда для императорской сцены. К тому же теперь уже все ангажементы сделаны, и в настоящую минуту никого из людей власть имеющих в Москве нет. Но я советую Вам попытаться устроиться где-нибудь в провинции; там будет Вам гораздо больше дела, чем в Москве, где Вы бы только без пользы для себя куснули. Лучше являться в столицы во всеоружии опыта и с богатым репертуаром. Попробуйте написать Сетову; на всякий случай прилагаю письмо к нему. Искренно преданный, П. Чайковский |
25 May 1892 Klin I am very happy to recommend you to the Directorate [1], — but I doubt that in the current season you shall be required for the Imperial Stage. Furthermore, all the engagements have now been made, and at the present moment none of the persons in authority are in Moscow. I would advise you to find something in the provinces; there you will far more active than in Moscow, where you could only land positions without benefit for yourself. It is better to be in the capital fully equipped with experience and a rich repertoire. Try writing to Setov; just in case I'm enclosing a letter to him [2]. Sincerely devoted, P. Tchaikovsky |
