Я только что вернулся из Петербурга, где провёл праздники, и теперь должен немедленно приступить к сложной и спешной работе. Это обстоятельство заставляет меня несколько отдалить предположенную поездку в Москву. Я приеду в конце месяца, приблизительно около 25-го числа, и предварительно в точности сообщу Вам о дне и часе весьма мне улыбающегося посещения Синодального хора. Буду в высшей степени доволен прослушать предлагаемую Вами программу, — но желал бы кроме его и чего-нибудь из русской церковной музыки. Town of Klin 5 April 1893 Most respected Stepan Vasilyevich!
I have only just returned from Petersburg, where I spent the holidays, and have now complex and urgent work to deal with immediately. This means that my intended planned trip to Moscow must be delayed a little. I will come at the end of the month, round about the 25th, and I shall inform you exactly of the date and time most convenient for me to visit the Synodal Choir [1]. I shall be extremely happy to listen to your suggested programme, — but I should like it if there were also something from Russian church music. In accordance with my promise, I have written to the Grand Duke; we shall see what will come of it [2]. And so, until we meet, most respected Stepan Vasilyevich.
