Hochgeehrter Herr Schneider!

Highly respected Herr Schneider!

I thank you very much for your friendly lines [2], and I am very happy that the concert will take place on 8 February; the rehearsals will be, as you wrote, on 3, 7 and 8 February. Therefore I am very much in agreement, and we can consider the matter of the concert to be settled. If you, respected sir, have anything more to say to me, then you may share it with me in person. Early next week I shall be in Berlin [3]; I will come to you and we can discuss everything that is required. When I consented to this concert from Russia [4], I considered it to be a final agreement, and had no intention of conducting a concert elsewhere.

With the utmost respect, your most devoted,

P. Tchaikovsky
