22 июня Милый друг!
Я вчера опоздал и остался здесь поневоле. Забыл тебе сказать тысячу вещей: 1) Пришли мне адрес Губертов. 2) Забыл отдать тебе расписку в уплате 50 франков. 3) Маккар просит меня убедительно, в виде исключения, отдать ему рукопись «Думки». Убедительно тебя прошу сделать это, т. е. послать ему. 4) Заехать к тебе за 1-ой симфонией я всё-таки не поспел и потому прошу тебя прислать мне её, ибо я недели две или больше сюда не появлюсь. 5) Пришли мне один экземпляр «Черевичек», ибо я должен приготовляться дирижировать. 6) Не приглашай ко мне ни Альбрехта, ни Кашкина; я решил праздновать именины совсем тихо. 7) Я заказал Маккару, т. е. через него фотографу, несколько дюжин моих карточек. Когда их пришлют, потрудись послать деньги, если таковые потребуются. 8) Кажется, ещё многое хотел тебе сказать, но забыл что. Если вспомню, напишу из Майданова. Твой, П. Чайковский |
22 June Dear friend!
I was late yesterday and have been detained here unwillingly. There are a thousand things I forgot to say to you: 1) Send me the Huberts' address. 2) I forgot to give you a receipt for the 50 francs. 3) Mackar has earnestly requested me, as an exception, to give him the manuscript of the "Dumka". I earnestly request you to do this, i.e. send it to him. 4) I still didn't manage to come to you for the 1st symphony, and therefore I ask you to send it to me, because it will be at least two weeks before I'm here again. 5) Send me one copy of "Cherevichki", because I must prepare to conduct. 6) Don't invite either Albrecht or Kashkin over to see me; I've decided to celebrate my nameday altogether quietly. 7) I've ordered several dozen of my cards from Mackar, i.e. through his photographer. When you receive them, kindly send him the money, if any is demanded. 8) I think there was much more I still wanted to tell you, but I've forgotten what it was.
