Nadino (Надино) is a village on the outskirts of Saint Petersburg, two kilometres north of the town of Shalki, in the Tosno district (Тосненский район) of Leningrad oblast (Ленинградская област) in the Russian Federation.

During Tchaikovsky's lifetime it was part of the Shlisselburg district (Шлиссельбургский уезд) in the Saint Petersburg province (Санкт-Петербургская губерния) of the Russian Empire.

Tchaikovsky in Nadino

In June and July 1851, Tchaikovsky spent his summer holidays on a country estate by the "Long Lake" (Озеро Долгое), which belonged to the mother of Mariya Vakar (née Markova), the wife of his guardian Platon Vakar. He reported to his parents that "this country is so beautiful; the environs are delightful" [1].
