Palavas-les-Flots is a resort on the Mediterranean Sea, in the Hérault department and of the Languedoc-Roussillon region of France, around six kilometres south of Montpellier.

Tchaikovsky in Palavas-les-Flots

Tchaikovsky visited Palavas-les-Flots on 27 July/8 August 1876, at the end of a journey by steamship on the river Rhône from Lyons to Montpellier.

He was accompanied on his journey by his brother Modest, Nikolay Konradi, and the latter's governess Sofya Yershova [1].
