Miss Miller will present herself with the enclosed cards:
1) To the director of the Conservatory, N. A. Hubert. He can be found at the Conservatory every morning. 2) To the inspector, K. K. Albrecht. He can be found at the Conservatory every morning. 3) To Sofya Alekseyevna Bernard, on whom it falls to accept Miss Miller into the cheap apartments. Unfortunately, I doubt that there are any places left now, because it is so late. In any case, Miss Bernard can be very useful to Miss Miller, and will take an interest in her. 4) In order to have someone who is able to help Miss Miller with advice and instructions for the first time, I suggest that she visit a former student of the Conservatory, Anna Yakovlevna Levenson, who hails from Odessa. This is my good friend, who surely will not refuse to help Miss Miller to settle in. Her address is: Kislovka, near Vozdvizhenka, Bazilevsky's house, Furnished rooms. As for Madame Bernard's address, I do not know where she is living now, and I shall need to enquire at the Conservatory. I have already written and sent letters to all these people. I am merely enclosing cards of recommendation, with which Miss Miller will appear to them. |
