21 July Yesterday evening I sent you a letter asking for the money to be sent to me at Kondratyev's, but as a consequence of news I received this morning my plans have changed, and I'm not now going there, and I'm returning home to Kamenka on the 27th. I'm requesting you to send me the money there (township of Smela), but not as a credit note, rather as a promissory note for a Kiev bank on presentation. It would take ages to explain why; but, in short, so that I can make ends meet, it's necessary that not everyone at Kamenka knows that I've received the money. Sorry, golubchik, for the disorderliness. Yours, P. Tchaikovsky |
