Podilsk (Подільськ) is a city and the administrative centre of the Podilsk district (Подільський район) in the Odessa oblast (Одеська область) of Ukraine.

During Tchaikovsky's lifetime it was known as Birzula (Бирзула), and formed part of Baltsk district (Балтский уезд) of Podolsk province (Подольская губерния) in the Russian Empire. Between 1935 and 2016 it was known as Kotovsk (Котовськ).
