8 August Welcome back. I won't address the substance of your letter [1], because I'll be seeing you very soon. I'm coming on the morning of the 13th, and that same day travelling to brother Nikolay in Kursk province, and thence to Kamenka. Please, come to my hotel for lunch (I'm going on the post train leaving at 4 o'clock, because the express passes by the station where I need to stop). If you would prefer lunch elsewhere, then send a fellow to the hotel with word of where I should turn up. You have a kitchen at your house now, do you not? There are lots of things we need to discuss. Kindly bring some money with you, 400 if you please. I embrace you! Yours, P. Tchaikovsky |
