16 October 1891 Dear Vladimir Petrovich!
The directorate of the Prague opera write to me that they have approached the Imperial Theatres for drawings of the costumes, scenery and Mise en scène, to no avail. With regard to the last of these, I'm writing now to O. O. Paleček. But as for the models and drawings of costumes, I earnestly request you, dear, kind Vladimir Petrovich to see that they are sent to Prague, director Šubert (Address: Reditelstvi Narodnih Divadla, Prag, Österreich, Herrn Dir[ektor] Šubert) Do not exact retribution on me for my base failure to write the promised few words from America, and be so kind as to give instructions to someone to dispatch without delay. Sincerely devoted, P. Tchaikovsky |
