Mikhaylovskoye, or Mikhailovskoe (Михайловское) is a village in the Vorotynsk district (Воротынский район) of Nizhny Novgorod oblast (Нижегородская область) of the Russian Federation.

During Tchaikovsky's lifetime it was part of the Spasskoye district (Спасский уезд) in the Nizhny Novgorod province (Нижегородская губерния) of the Russian Empire.

Tchaikovsky in Mikhaylovskoye

Tchaikovsky spent just over a week at a summer dacha in Mikhaylovskoye with his brother Anatoly and his family, from 9/21 September to 17/29 September 1893. "What a delight Mikhaylovskoye is!!! It's impossible to describe how good it is here ... I had never expected to end up in some sort of paradise!", the composer wrote [1].
