Amaliya Litke (1841-1912)

First cousin to the composer (b. 23 May/4 June 1841; d. 16/29 December 1912 at Klin), born Amaliya Vasilyevna Schobert (Амалия Васильевна Шоберт); known after her marriage as Countess Amaliya Vasilyevna Litke (Амалия Васильевна Литке).

Amaliya was the eldest child of Vasily Schobert and his wife Yelizaveta. In the 1860s she married state councillor Nikolay Fyodorovich Litke (1839–1887), a railway engineer, by whom she had five children: Nikolay; Fyodor (1866–1912); Aleksandr (1868–1919); Konstantin (1873–1915); and Pyotr.
