Albert Gutmann (1851–1915)

Austrian music publisher (b. 20 June 1851 in Fürth; d. 7 March 1915 in Vienna), also known as Albert J. Gutmann.

His firm was founded in Vienna in 1873 and included several major works by Anton Bruckner in its catalogue. It was acquired by Universal Edition in 1920.

Gutmann was the organiser of "The International Exhibition for Music and Drama" in Vienna in 1892, in which capacity he corresponded with Tchaikovsky. Gutmann's memoirs of Viennese musical life — Aus dem Wiener Musikleben — were published in 1915.
