Daughter of Osip Jurgenson, and the niece of Tchaikovsky's publisher Pyotr Jurgenson, born Luiza Osipovna Yurgenson (Луиза Осиповна Юргенсон); also known as Luiza Iosifovna Yurgenson (Луиза Иосифовна Юргенсон).
Tchaikovsky knew Luiza's family well, and often called on them while he was staying in Saint Petersburg. In 1893 he dedicated his piano piece Mazurque pour danser to her.
