Monika Terminskaya

Russian pianist and composer (b. 1850 in Saint Petersburg), born Monika Vikentyevna Terminskaya (Моника Викентьевна Терминская).

She graduated from Anton Rubinstein's class in the Saint Petersburg Conservatory in 1866, and went on to give concert recitals in Russia. In 1876, she returned to the Conservatory as a tutor, before moving to the Tiflis Music School in 1897. Terminskaya was also the author of several romances [1].

Dedications

In 1873, Tchaikovsky dedicated his piano piece Nocturne — No. 4 of the Six Pieces, Op. 19 — "à Mademoiselle Terminsky".
