Postcard showing the Hotel Washington in Florence (right) during the late 19th century [1]. Tchaikovsky stayed at the hotel from 16/28 March to 20 March/1 April 1882, and again from 18/30 January to 26 March/7 April 1890 (while working on The Queen of Spades).
