Second cousin of the composer (b. 1871; d. 1960), born Vera Emilyevna Genke (Вера Эмильевна Генке); known after her marriage as Vera Emilyevna Olyonina (Вера Эмильевна Оленина).
Vera was the third child of Emil Yakovlevich Genke (1828–1888), a mining engineer, and his wife Lidiya (b. Tchaikovskaya, 1838–1901).
