14 September 1887 Maydanovo Modya! Since my return from Piter 3 days ago [1] I've been busy coming up with alterations to "The Enchantress". On Saturday the 12th I left for Moscow. I spent 2 days there on an uninterrupted drinking binge, which I've come back from with most unpleasant memories. In general it's remarkable how my fondness for Moscow has waned. I've brought Laroche back here. I've decided to devote the next few evenings to him, so that he can try to finish writing an article by the 20th. If there are any letters for me, then please send them here before the 25th [2]. Send me Zasyadko's [3] letters. Kisses and hugs. P. Tchaikovsky |
