В ответ на Ваше письмо могу сказать только, что мне весьма жаль разочароваться в надежде увидеть мою симфонию в отличном переложении, — хотя, с другой стороны, я весьма Вам благодарен за благовременное предупреждение. Вероятнее всего, что этот труд я возьму на себя, — как мне он ни антипатичен. Потрудитесь передать Вашей супруге мою благодарность за доброе, хотя и неисполнимое желание, а также пожелания о скорейшем её выздоровлении. Искренно преданный Вам, П. Чайковский |
