Милый друг Евгений Карлович!

Сим заявляю, что я не вижу никакого препятствия к выдаче из Нотной конторы императорских театров проверенных оркестровых голосов «Евгения Онегина» г. директору консерватории Ю. И. Иогансену.

Искренно преданный,

П. Чайковский

Dear friend Yevgeny Karlovich!

I hereby declare that I see no reason why the Music Office of the Imperial Theatres should not issue the authorised orchestral parts for "Yevgeny Onegin" to Conservatory Director Mr J. I. Johansen [1].

Sincerely devoted,

P. Tchaikovsky

Notes and References

  1. Yuly Ivanovich Johansen (Iogansen) (1826-1904), director of the Saint Petersburg Conservatory from 1891 to 1897. The parts were required for a student performance of extracts from Onegin and Glinka's opera Ruslan and Lyudmila at the Aleksandrinsky Theatre in Saint Petersburg on 17/29 January 1893.
