11 December 1892

Dear Sasha! I'm very, very sorry that you are poorly again. I'm taking advantage of a cancelled rehearsal [1] in order to write replies to a whole heap of letters, which I despaired that I wouldn't have the time to do before my departure [2]. I won't come to lunch with you, but will visit you around 4 o'clock in order to talk and drink 2 cups of tea. Until we meet!

Yours, P. Tchaikovsky
