Notes and References

  1. Boleslav Koreyvo, owner of a book and music store in Kiev (founded in 1873). After the death of Iosif Kotek in 1885, Tchaikovsky had promised material assistance to his surviving brothers and sisters. A letter from Koreyvo to the composer survives in the Klin House-Museum archive, confirming that at Tchaikovsky's request he will pay 25 rubles to Vyacheslav Kotek on the first day of each month from September 1888 until May 1890, using funds transferred on account by Pyotr Jurgenson — see Неизвестный Чайковский (2009), p. 191.
