M[ada]me Mouromtzewa-Klimentowa, cantatrice de beaucoup de talent, ambitionnerait beaucoup l'honneur de paraître devant je public de Prague. Je Vous la recommande bien chaudement. Elle désirerait être invitée par Vous pendant le Grand Carème, quand chez nous les théâtres sont fermés et elle pourrait disposer complétement de sa liberté. N'auriez vous pas cher et très respecté Monsieur Shubert, l'extrême, complaisance de lui faire savoir si cela est possible! Comme c'est une ambition artistique et un intérêt qui poussent M[ada]me Klimentowa à tâcher d'obtenir un engagement (für Gastrollen) à Prague, ses conditions seront certainement bien modestes. Je crois qu'elle pourrait plaire au public de Prague. Si Vous lui écrivez, veuillez adresser Moscou Théâtre Impérial. A propos: le baryton Korsoff de Moscou m'a aussi adressé la prière de Vous le recommander. Je l'ai déjà fait l'année passée, mais je ne sais si Vous Vous en souvenez. Je n'ai qu'à Vous dire encore une fois que cet artiste mérite tout à fait l'honneur d'une invitation de Votre part pour chanter au Narodni divadlo. 13/25 January 1889 Mr Director!
Madame Muromtseva-Klimentova, a greatly talented singer, aspires to the great honour of appearing before the public in Prague. I would warmly recommend her. She desires you to invite her during the Grand Carème [1], when our home theatres are closed and she is completely free to be at your disposal. Dear and most respected Mr Shubert, would you be so kind as to let her know if this is possible? It is her artistic ambition and an interest which compels Madame Klimentova to strive for a commitment (for guest roles) in Prague, and her conditions will certainly be very modest. I think that she would please the public in Prague [2]. If you write, please address her at the Moscow Imperial Theatre. As for the Moscow baritone Korsov, might I beg leave to also recommend him. I already did so last year, but I do not know if you recall. I have to tell you again just once more that this artist is worthy of an invitation from you to sing at the Narodni divadlo. - ↑ František Šubert replied to Tchaikovsky on 9/21 February that, according to his wish, Mariya Klimentova-Muromtseva would be invited four performances on the stage of the National Theatre (Národní divadlo) in March 1889. Her appearances proved to be a great success.
