Text and Translation

Russian text

By Luis Sundkvist
Если Вы не особенно устали, приезжайте на полчаса и привезите с собой увертюру.
П. Чайковский

If you are not particularly tired, drop by for half an hour and bring the overture with you [1].
P. Tchaikovsky

Notes and References

  1. This evidently refers to the Overture in D minor which Taneyev had written for his final exams at the Moscow Conservatory in May 1875, specifically as the examination piece for Tchaikovsky's class. The overture has not been published.
