Do you know what? In view of the requests for "Hamlet", why not have the parts lithographed with the music just as it is, I would even say including the old borrowings. Some of the successful new music, namely the melodrama, where the ghost appears the march and even, I suppose, the overture, might be published in the form of full scores, while noting that the overture is abridged and facilité from the larger overture. However, we'll soon be able to discuss all this in person. If the Americans give in to my demand for 20,000 rubles, then, supposing I undertake even half of the tour, that still leaves 10,000 rubles. This would be very good for my heirs.

Until we meet.

Yours, P. Tchaikovsky
