9 дек[абря] 1891 Милый друг Сергей Иванович! Не приедешь ли ты ко мне на этой неделе? Мне нужно, во-1-х, тебя видеть, чтобы кое о чем переговорить, а вo-2-x, мне нужна партитура «Иоланты» (тех тетрадей, что я дал тебе сначала), дабы выставить темпы. Что бы ты приехал и привёз мне эти тетради? Иппол[итов]-Иванов мечтал посетить меня с тобой и с Аренским. Отлично бы было. Если же не можешь, тогда партитуры не посылай. Я выставлю темпы 16-го в Москве, у тебя в квартире, если позволишь. П. Ч.

9 December 1891 Dear friend Sergey Ivanovich! Won't you come to see me this week? Firstly, I need to see you in order to discuss something, and secondly, I require the full score of "Iolanta" (in the notebooks I gave to you initially), in order to insert the tempi. Could you come and bring me these notebooks? Ippolitov-Ivanov dreams of seeing me with you and Arensky. That would be splendid. If you cannot, then do not send the full score. I can insert the tempi on the 16th at your apartment in Moscow, if you will permit it. P. T.
