4th June 1890 Dear friend!
Continuing the list of desirable corrections [1]. 1) In the introduction (page 4) p has not been inserted by the first note. 2) On page 44, 1st bar at the bottom. It ought to be thus: 3) The same page and line in the 3rd bar, ought to be thus: 4) Page 51, last bar The sign < ought to be between the staves. There will probably be more. I have nothing against Pachulski for Hamlet [2]. I have no objection to Rachmaninoff under Ziloti's guidance [3]. Regarding the suite from the ballet, I ask you to wait until July, because then I'll be in Petersburg and will hear the suite made by Keller. I'll see you in a few days, because I'm coming over. I hug you! P. Tchaikovsky P. S.. You've probably already sent the 1st act to Ziloti today. Just by chance I saw an unmarked error on a loose page from Dahlgren's 1st proofs. Perhaps it went unnoticed in both the 2nd or the 3rd proofs as well, and therefore I ask you to go down to the engravers and look at page 103, to see whether in the last bar of the last line there is a treble clef placed before the notes If the clef is absent, then it should be inserted thus: P. T. |
Notes and References
- ↑ In the vocal-piano reduction of the opera The Queen of Spades.
