Russian poet and actor (b. 1797 at Saint Petersburg; d. 30 November/12 December 1832 in Moscow), born Nikolay Grigoryevich Tsyganov (Николай Григорьевич Цыганов).

In 1891, Tchaikovsky set two of his Three Choruses to untitled poems by Tsyganov: Tis Not the Cuckoo in the Damp Pinewood (No. 1) and Without Time, Without Season (No. 3).
