Moscow. 25 September 1870 My dear friend!
A fair copy of my score will be dispatched to you very soon. After that I shall have the orchestral parts copied from the score, but would you be so kind as to let me know the date by which these should be ready? Our copyist is very busy, and if you are in a hurry to have them, I shall take the score to the theatre office to have it copied there. If the opportunity arises, I would very much like to come to Piter for 3 days or so, adjusting the date of my arrival to the date of the overture's performance [1]. Could you not send me, as you did last year, a playbill with the programme of all five concerts? I kiss you heartily! P. Tchaikovsky Please reply quickly. |
