20 августа Дорогая Баташа!
Думаю, что Вы уже в Москве. Сегодня уезжаю на две недели за границу. Имею к Вам просьбу передать Василию Ильичу о двух следующих вещах: 1) Если вакансия Салина не занята, то очень бы желательно, чтобы она досталась Юлию Конюсу. Я писал об этом В[асилию] И[льичу], но не знаю, застанет ли его в Кисловодске моё письмо. 2) Ко мне страшно пристаёт певец — офицер Сериков, чтобы я замолвил за него словечко. Ну, я и замолвливаю, — хотя совершенно к нему равнодушен. Голосок у него есть, а больше я ничего про него сказать не могу. Я только что окончил свою симфонию. Думаю, надеюсь, что Вы будете ею довольны. Я же покамест очень. Делал сам переложение и пригласил Лёву Конюса проиграть его. Оказалось отвратительно. Мы ужасно мучились с ним, как бы сделать получше и поудобнее. Я вспоминал, как мы с Вами терзались над «Манфредом», помните? Ну, целую Ваши инспекторские лапы. В начале сентября увидимся. Ваш П.
