5 May Can I trouble you, my dear, to show this letter [1] to Safonov. Would it be possible to invite Lamond? He really is a wonderful pianist. If this can't be done, then shouldn't he be sent a polite refusal?[2] |

- ↑ Tchaikovsky enclosed a letter of 18/30 April 1892 from the Scottish composer and pianist Frederic Lamond, in which he asked Tchaikovsky if he could secure a concert engagement for him in Russia, where he very much wanted to play the Piano Concerto No. 1.
