8 July 1889

Dear Borya! I've decided not to make significant changes to the "Marche Slave", but would ask Chrysander [1] to correct all the existing mistakes in the full score (naturally, in the event that Pyotr Ivanovich wants to do a new edition).

Therefore, if my permission is required to print new parts, then I give it most willingly [2].

I kiss you on both chubby cheeks. I bow to Sasha, Nina Valeryanovna and Pavel Ivanovich.

Yours, P. Tchaikovsky
