В прошлую почту тебе пришло огромное письмо. Так как я и Толя вообразили себе, что адрес написан рукой Адамова, то решили распечатать, надеясь увидеть какое-ни6удь извещение касательно твоей службы. Но так как оказалось, что мы ошиблись, то Лева торжественно принял письмо под своё хранение, и теперь оно посылается тебе, к немалому моему сожалению, ибо смерть хочется его прочитать. Если хочешь меня видеть, то помни, что я остаюсь здесь не более, как до 1-гo числа, и потому являйся. У нас здесь хоть и приятно, но грустно. Митя всё хворает, и Саша сильно тоскует. Послезавтра ждут Папашу. Всё тебя целуют и просят поскорее ехать в Каменку. Лобызаю тебя. П. Чайковский |
A huge letter came for you in the last post. Since Tolya and I imagined that the address was written in Adamov's handwriting, we decided to open it, hoping to see some sort of notification regarding your service. But as it turned out that we were mistaken, then Lyova solemnly took the letter into his custody, and it is now being sent to you, to my no little regret, because I was dying to read it. If you want to see me, then remember that I'm staying here until the 1st at the latest, so come before then. It's pleasant here, but sad. Mitya is still poorly, and Sasha is very miserable.
