Ada Christen (1839-1901)

Austrian writer (b. 6 March 1839 [N.S.] in Vienna; d. 19 May 1901 [N.S.] at Inzersdorf), born Christiane Rosalia Friederik; also known after her first marriage in 1864 as Christiane Neupauer, and after her second marriage in 1878 as Christiane von Breden.

Tchaikovsky's Settings of Works by Christen

In 1884, Tchaikovsky set Christen's poem Nur Du allein (1872), in a Russian translation by Aleksey Pleshcheyev, as Only You Alone (Лишь ты один), No. 6 of the Six Romances, Op. 57.
